Long time since my last post, I know! But here, as promised, are my framed Native American-inspired prints of critters and creatures. Each image is 4″ x 4″, and is mounted in a floating mat. The black gallery frame is 12″ x 12″. I think that’s a pretty nice size for the small spaces in your home or office. And they look great in groupings. I’m printing these in editions of 50; each print is signed and numbered. Once the edition is complete, the original blocks will be destroyed or mutilated to insure the value of the edition.
I use a print-making technique, carving my own stamps with lino-cutting tools, then applying archival ink to the block. I transfer the image to the surface, which in this case is ivory-colored Ampersand AquaBord. Of course, the printed image is the reverse of the original block.
Right now, this series is not available on my Etsy shop, but will be at upcoming local events. Mark your calendars for May 10 when my friend Carol and I will host another Front Porch Art & Music event. For locals, the date coincides with the Fairmount neighborhood’s annual home tour on Mother’s Day weekend. Just think, you can get your old home fix and your art fix on the same day! Both would be a wonderful way to spend time with your Mom. Details to come.
